Kara McNeish

TD Aboriginal Nursing Fund Award – Baccalaureate

I am a mom to three beautiful children, including a set of twins!  They are the first set of twins to bless our family.  My oldest child is just completing grade one, and my twins are enjoying daycare.  I am very motivated to providing my children with all they need and to have every opportunity to have a good life and be happy.  I am a hard worker who will set a goal and do my best to achieve it and succeed.

I have always been interested in health, the human body, and helping people.  Nursing was a career I had always wanted to be in.  I am passionate about taking care of people and helping others feel better.  I was the oldest of my siblings growing up and believe this is when my passion of helping others along with my interest in health and science began.  I enjoy learning and believe learning is something I will always pursue.  I am fortunate to be training for a profession where I can be challenged and be able to make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis.  There are many employment opportunities as a nurse and I am very excited to be part of a profession with endless opportunities for growth, diversity, and knowledge

Giving Tuesday has become a global movement for giving and marks the beginning of the giving season for your favourite causes. Thank you for joining Canadian Nurses Foundation today as we celebrate our 10th annual campaign. Double your gift today!

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. More qualified nurses, more nurse-led research, more nurses and nursing students supported with mentoring and proactive mental health programs and training – that’s the outcome of your support. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses. Let’s make this year’s Giving Tuesday our most impactful yet, proving that our collective kindness can create lasting change.
