Nova Scotia Nurses Association Award
Coming from rural Nova Scotia, I know very well the importance of having great nurses. I’ve been a Licensed Practical Nurse for five years, and am headed into my second year of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in acute care, long term care, and most recently in the community. While in school, I work for the VON, traveling throughout the county to provide nursing care, helping people get well in their own home for as long as possible. Being part of such a great profession really is a privilege.
Being awarded this scholarship truly means so much. As a single mother to an eight year old boy, the stress of financing my education places a heavy burden on my shoulders. This award will allow me to focus even more so on my studies to allow me to become the best nurse that I can be.
