Lindsay Sykes

Yvonne Andrews Award

Lindsay is currently in her fourth year of the Bachelors of Nursing program at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta. After graduation she hopes to practice as an RN in Neurosciences in Calgary, Alberta. Lindsay’s opportunities in nursing so far have predominantly been across the continuum of care for the neurosciences population. As a result, Lindsay has developed a passion and has gained a deeper understanding for the different phases if illness, recovery, and rehabilitation of many of the patients she looks after. Lindsay’s future academic goals are to pursue her advance critical care nursing certificate in neurosciences and continue with a master’s degree in nursing. Lindsay also has interests in research and has been involved in various research projects in epidemiology, cardiovascular health, sodium, response rates, and nursing care models for Alzheimer patients. Lindsay enjoys the outdoors, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends.
