Raluca Moldovan

RBC Diversity in Nursing Fund Award

My decision to join the nursing profession was greatly influenced by my personal experiences as a caregiver for my father, my mother, and my grandmother. This caregiving role helped me uncover my ability to invest myself fully into the well-being of others. I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Internationally Educated Nurses Program at York University. This program is a wonderful opportunity to enhance my nursing knowledge and skills to practice safely and competently within the Canadian health care system. My experience in health care includes working with breast cancer patients, clinical placements in medical-surgical units, long-term care and community settings, as well as volunteering for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

I am sincerely honoured to have been selected for the CNF RBC Diversity in Nursing Award. I would like to express my gratitude for the  tremendous financial contribution towards my nursing education which brings me one step closer to my goal of becoming a leader, a mentor and an inspiration for others to enter the nursing profession. The CNF/RBC’s generous award allows me to maintain focus on my studies to successfully complete my degree and make a lasting contribution to the well-being of those entrusted in my care.

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses.
