Nightingale Award
I have been active both within the university and the community throughout my nursing degree studies. I was involved as an orientation leader and mentor for incoming students. I served as a health promotion team member for an interprofessional organization that serves the homeless and marginally-housed populations of downtown Toronto. I have also been involved as a lay grief counselor for a peer-based support program for individuals and families bereaved by suicide. I pland to pursue graduate level studies and have recently entertained the thought of obtaining a masters degree in music therapy. I hope eventually to incorporate music within my clnical practice to empower people to maintain control over their own health, despited issues such as pain and disability.
