I became a nurse because I wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives. From an early age, I have been a natural caregiver, noticing and acting when needed, providing quiet moments of comfort through the power of presence when people are at their most vulnerable. Nursing offered me a path to serve with both heart and skill, a true blend of art and science at work, enabling me to have a positive impact on others.
I began my nursing career in the operating room, where I learned how precision, teamwork, and presence can change outcomes in an instant. Nursing has provided me with a dynamic career that has enabled me to grow in many areas. My journey has taken me through hospital rooms, community spaces, boardrooms, classrooms and research circles. I am pursuing my PhD to explore how nurse leaders can utilize artificial intelligence to contribute to healthier and more sustainable work environments. At the centre of it, all is a deep belief in equity, humanity, and the wisdom of the nursing profession.
Being a nurse is not just what I do; it’s who I am. In all aspects of my life, from supporting planetary health to coaching athletes with special needs, I bring a commitment to care, inclusion, and collective wellbeing. I carry this work forward with reverence for mindful moments, a deep commitment to lasting care and impactful leadership, and a vision for a future where both nurses and the communities they serve are empowered to flourish.
