Extendicare Nurse Practitioner Scholarship

Hospitals are scary places for almost everyone and I experienced this as a family member was being cared for in the hospital. I saw how caring the nursing staff were and how they were able to put my family at ease. I chose to become a nurse to care for my community as they cared for me. As a nurse, I have the privilege to be a part of the most vulnerable moments in a person’s life. Over my past 6 years practicing as a nurse in various areas and with diverse populations I have had the opportunity to be part of many of these special moments. Whether it be guiding someone through a procedure, or holding someone’s hand during a difficult time, I can have a meaningful impact on my patients’ lives. I continue to work, inspire, lead, and advocate for the nursing profession because I know the impact nursing can make in our communities.

It is an absolute honour to be selected for the Extendicare Nurse Practitioner Scholarship. Thank you for supporting me in my career to continue pursuing what I love to do in life. I look forward to continuing to support our communities as a Nurse Practitioner leading and driving change in our healthcare system.
