TYLENOL® Fund to Advance Diversity in Nursing and Health Equity Research
I am a 25-year-old from Victoria, BC and have worked as a med-surg LPN for four years. I am currently in the bridge program to pursue my bachelor’s degree. Growing up in the slums of the Philippines, I experienced firsthand the impact of inadequate healthcare access in underserved communities. Seeing how this affected people’s lives, including my own family, made me realize early on that I wanted to become a nurse and make a difference. My goal has always been to become a positive influence within the healthcare system and strive to provide equitable and compassionate care to every individual. I am proud to be working toward not only my dream of becoming a Registered Nurse but also the honour of being the first in my family to earn a degree. I’m excited to build upon my experience and knowledge as I bridge from LPN to RN, knowing that each step brings me closer to achieving my goal and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
