CeraVe Skincare Scholarships for Diversity and Equity

Life does not always happen as you plan and although I worked hard, life was just HARD. I had very little cash left, but had family to look after. I needed a stable career. So, in 2018 at the age of 41, after a lot of contemplation, I enrolled myself in grade 12 classes again and redid my high school grade 12 biology, chemistry, and English. I got accepted right away and it was non-stop from there. I studied during the day and worked at a Long Term Care and a hospital during my days off.  My grades were decent to transfer into an accelerated BScN 3 year program and graduated in 2022. I am now studying for my NCLEX.

Now that I am mature, I would like to become a part of the community and give back while providing food and comfort to my family and not worry about paying for rent every month. I’ve always worked hard, but when you are born to an immigrant family with language barrier and after going through bankruptcy and not being able to pick ourselves up again even after many years, it takes a toll on your mental and physical health.

All I dream of is to see a brighter path ahead. We all need hope, or drive and will to live and I cannot think of any other profession that gives greater humanity than those shown by nurses.  Money comes and goes, but knowing that I have given back to the community would give me the peace of mind. I would be honoured to be part of the team.

Thank you for being such a great helping hand. Much appreciated.
