This picture was a very proud moment for me. It was taken at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba during my third clinical rotation. I was wearing the hospital green scrubs for the very first time to observe a surgical procedure in the heart lab, I have always admired the Doctors and Nurses when I see them in these scrubs because to me it signifies responsibility and hard work. I felt proud that I am getting closer and closer to earning the right to don these green scrubs and take responsibility for the safety and well being of my patients. I was inspired to become a nurse after my father died from complications to his kidney function. I could not give him the best care, I watched and heard his agonizing cries and I was helpless but as my nursing training progresses I see that there is so much I can  do to minimize suffering as I care for my patients while on clinical rotations or in my job as health care aide,  so I find it rewarding when the care I give to patients in their most vulnerable state makes an amazing difference in their health management or recovery process. I am hopeful that with my nursing training I will be able to support my patients at their various points of needs.
