WeRPN Award for Student Excellence
Ever since I was young, I have been passionate about health and well-being. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a Master’s in Health Promotion in Brazil. During my studies, I discovered the profound impact that health education and promotion can have on individuals and communities. I saw firsthand how empowering people with knowledge about their health can lead to better outcomes and improved quality of life. After completing my education, I strongly desired to further my career in Canada, a country known for its excellent healthcare system and diverse population. I wanted to be part of a healthcare team that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives every day. This ambition brought me to nursing, where I found a perfect blend of my interests in health promotion and direct patient care. To me, nursing is more than just a profession; it’s a calling. It offers the opportunity to connect with people personally, support them through their health challenges, and celebrate their achievements. I believe in the power of empathy, education, and empowerment. As a nurse, I aim to provide compassionate care, educate patients about their health, and empower them to take control of their well-being. Now, in almost in my last semester of the practical nursing program at Mohawk College, I am eager to start my journey as a nurse in Canada. I look forward to making a positive impact and contributing to the health and happiness of my community.
