Lauren Nissen

CNSA Education and Research Award

Nursing has always been a natural choice for me. Growing up, I have always admired the gentleness and intelligence of the nurses in my life. Throughout my high school years I began volunteering in long term care facilities and it was here where I fell in love with the world of nursing. I loved how the nurses knew each clients unique needs, and were able to bring them comfort and joy.  I’ve always thought that it is such a privilege to be with patients on their best and worst days. I hope to be a face that brings them comfort in a time of chaos. I love the versatility of nursing, and can’t wait to find my niche.

My time at Vancouver Island University has been full of growing and learning, and I am so excited to see where the world of nursing brings me. I am so grateful to be able to study nursing, and I am proud to be a CNF student.
