Award Recipient

Mallory Magee

New Brunswick Nursing Award

I chose the nursing profession because it felt like the perfect blend between my academic interests in science and human anatomy, and my desire to have a career focused on helping others. My nursing background includes experience working in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in a medical-surgical setting. I love being able to work in a fast-paced environment where I am constantly learning and able to positively impact my patients and their families.

Last fall I made the decision to return to school on a full-time basis to become a Nurse Practitioner. I chose to further my education because I want to make primary health care more accessible in my community and throughout Canada. I am also passionate about focusing on health education as a means of preventative medicine.

I am extremely grateful to the Canadian Nurse Foundation and the Nurses Association of New Brunswick for granting me this award and supporting my ongoing studies.
