TYLENOL® Fund to Advance Diversity in Nursing and Health Equity Research

Since I was young, I have been drawn to nursing. I was inspired by the compassionate care nurses provided to others. As I grew from a nursing student to a frontline nurse and now a PhD student, I cherish the personal connections I form with my patients. Supporting them through their journeys and building trust with them and their families is a privilege. There have been many moments that affirmed my choice to pursue nursing. Whether it is listening to life stories of an older adult patient, seeing the joy in new parents’ faces, or working together with my team in emergencies, each experience has deeply impacted me.

To me, nursing is an art that shapes who I am. From helping someone at the beginning of life to supporting them at the end, I feel grateful to walk alongside each patient. Their resilience and trust continually inspire and drive my passion. Nursing offers abundant opportunities for personal and professional growth. Balancing scientific knowledge with human connection makes it both challenging and rewarding. I value the autonomy to apply my knowledge, whether in direct patient care or research.

That is why I became a nurse—it is more than just a profession. It is my calling to make a meaningful impact every single day.

Giving Tuesday has become a global movement for giving and marks the beginning of the giving season for your favourite causes. Thank you for joining Canadian Nurses Foundation today as we celebrate our 10th annual campaign. Double your gift today!

We know that helping nurses and nursing students is a team effort. More qualified nurses, more nurse-led research, more nurses and nursing students supported with mentoring and proactive mental health programs and training – that’s the outcome of your support. This leads to a stronger, more robust healthcare system for Canada.

Your support today, on Giving Tuesday, empowers us to set ambitious goals, strengthen our resources, and show that our collective generosity fuels the next generation of nurses. Let’s make this year’s Giving Tuesday our most impactful yet, proving that our collective kindness can create lasting change.
