CNF Award
My name is Robyn Tyrrell and I am currently entering my fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Grant MacEwan University. I am thrilled to be receiving the Canadian Nurses Foundation Scholarship for the upcoming academic year. Not only does this scholarship give me the freedom to focus my time and energies upon my studies, but it is also a wonderful affirmation of all the effort I have poured into my education in order to be the best nurse I can be. I love working with people and want to use my skills and abilities to make a difference in the world. After graduation, I am planning to work in acute care/surgery to gain experience. My goal is to work in developing nations with an organization like Mercy Ships, providing humanitarian relief and assisting with life-transforming surgeries. I also am passionate about working with adults or children with disabilities, and could easily see myself in a nursing career in that field. My faith in my Saviour, Jesus Christ, is the foundation for every part of who I am, and my dream is to work with an organization where caring for the physical body through nursing goes hand in hand with caring for the spirit and soul. I know that nursing is the perfect career for me, and am delighted to be receiving this scholarship and moving one step closer to achieving my dreams for the future.
