TD Aboriginal Nursing Award – Master’s

I am blessed every day to call myself a Registered Nurse (RN). I feel even more blessed to be a student Nurse Practitioner (NP) working towards my goal of practicing as a Family All Ages NP. As an RN I am privileged to share in clients and families most intimate and important health moments and look forward to this evolving during my NP practice. I am honored to be a part of the health and wellness journeys of the community members I serve. Attaining graduate education is very important to me and I believe through this challenge I am growing stronger as a RN, a woman, and a Métis person. I am challenged every day to be the best I can be and I seek to continually make my aboriginal community proud. Receiving this award elevates my ability to focus on my educational goals and puts a priority on succeeding not only for myself but for those who have supported me in my educational endeavors.

I look forward to the next year and a half as my graduate education continues. I plan on absorbing all I can from the mentors who are helping to shape my future practice. I want to be an inspiration for other aboriginal people in my career and in my ability to provide optimal health and wellness care. Thank you for believing in my ability and desire to succeed in my NP studies.
