Victoria Grof

Victoria GroffThe CNF RBC Diversity in Nursing scholarship will help in my nursing career immensely. As someone who pays for school on their own, it can be quite a struggle juggling school, clinical and work at the same time while still putting your all into each part of your life. With this scholarship I will be able to spend more time and focus in the clinical setting and get more out of my nursing experience. This scholarship comes at a great time as I start my community rotation in September.

This September I hope to work with at-risk teens in the Downtown Eastside or at a mental health facility in Vancouver. This area of nursing is one I am very fascinated in as I have volunteered previously with at-risk teens and have close family members who live with mental illness. I really want to have this semester to immerse myself into this area and really understand my clients. By having a scholarship take away the stress of finances, I will be able to take in and learn everything I can from this clinical experience and also be able to give as much as I can to a group of people who really need it. Because of this scholarship, I will be able to do what I love to my fullest; give back.
